Glenshee is Scotlands largest ski centre. Located just 9 miles south of Braemar on the A93, this is the highest public road in Scotland. It is easily reached from Schiehallion House were we are fully equipped to deal with wet clothes, skis etc. Glenshee or Gleann Shith (Gaelic for Glen of the Fairies) has 21 lifts and 36 runs which gives an unprecedented terrain for all types of skiing and snowboarding. Glenshee offers a full ski school with fully qualified instructors in boarding and skiing.

Glenshee has a large visitor centre with the Base Cafe, snowboard and ski hire, and a shop. All items of skiing and snowboarding can be purchased from the shop or hired for the day, including but not limited to skis, poles, snowblades, helmets, boards, boots, and suits. The Lecht Ski Centre is a half hour drive from Braemar. As you can see from above it enjoyed  sunny alpine skiing conditions in April of 2008.   With its new ski centre the Lecht can too offer excellent skiing facilities.
